The 2023 Jeep Compass: Subcompact Style, Function, & Performance

If you’re in search of a capable and versatile subcompact SUV, you won’t want to miss your chance to get behind the wheel of the 2023 Jeep Compass. This heavily redesigned model combines style, performance, and cutting-edge features, giving you an impeccable driving experience both on the highway and during off-roading adventures.
The 2023 model updates upped the vehicle’s performance, boosted its power, and replaced the nine-speed transmission with an eight-speed. It’s also now offered with standard all-wheel drive and has a new and improved suspension. Here are a few more exciting reasons to consider upgrading your ride to a 2023 Jeep Compass.
Impressive, Eye-Catching Design
A bold, modern design gives the 2023 Compass a sophisticated look. It still has the unmistakable Jeep style but with a contemporary twist. Bold lines, distinctive LED headlamps and fog lamps, and an iconic seven-slot grille come together to create a striking presence.
You’ll also find that the Compass is well-equipped with available luxury exterior features like rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated exterior mirrors, and a power liftgate. Wheel designs ranging from 17 to 19 inches add an extra touch of style, while the available gloss black roof creates the ultimate in sophistication.
Comfortable, High-Tech Interior
When you step inside the Compass, you’ll find that the cabin is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with an array of features that will take your driving experience to new heights. It features the largest standard touchscreen radio display in its class and has plenty of space for four adult passengers.
You’ll also have the opportunity to elevate your experience with available upgrades like a 10.25-inch digital cluster display, wireless charging, Alpine® Premium Audio System, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Turbocharged Capabilities
For the 2023 model year, Jeep introduced a new powertrain and made all-wheel-drive standard. It now has a 200-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This provides a welcome bump in power and allows the Compass to produce 221 lb-ft of torque. It’s quite agile and offers well-controlled, nicely weighted steering.
The fuel economy has also improved, with an expected 24 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. This is thanks, in part, to the engine’s stop-start technology and the seamless rear-axle disconnect.
Industry-Leading Safety Features
The 2023 Compass is packed with state-of-the-art safety and security systems designed to give you peace of mind every time you get behind the wheel. Forward collision warning with active braking uses advanced radar sensors to detect when you are approaching a vehicle too quickly, applying the brakes when needed.
Blind spot monitoring alerts you when vehicles travel into your blind spots, and rear cross path detection warns you when obstacles are in your way as you’re backing up.
Active lane management detects lane drift and provides an alert. It also provides steering correction to avoid colliding with vehicles in your blind zone. Available adaptive cruise control automatically adjusts your speed to maintain a pre-set distance from the vehicle in front of you.
In addition to tech and safety features, the 2023 Compass also features a high-strength steel body structure designed to optimize vehicle weight and dynamics while also maximizing crash protection. It also features seven standard and advanced airbags that will help keep both you and your passengers safe.
5 Distinctive Trim Packages
The 2023 Compass comes in five distinct trim packages, each with a unique set of features.
Sport Trim
The Sport trim comes standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, active all-wheel drive, and 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. It also comes standard with the Uconnect5 infotainment system and driver assists.
Latitude
The Latitude is the lowest trim level to offer an available power liftgate. It also offers an Altitude package, which pairs 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels with gloss-black exterior styling elements. Other available upgrades include a convenience package, driver assistance package, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Latitude Lux
The Latitude Lux brings more style and comfort, adding leather seats, 18-inch Satin Carbon wheels, and a heated steering wheel. The available upgrades are the same as for the Latitude, but expand to include LED projector fog lights, headlights, and taillights.
Trailhawk
If off-roading capabilities are important to you, you’ll want to take a look at the Trailhawk. This trim package has a more advanced 4WD system with off-road suspension, skid plate protection, and hill descent control. It also features Rock Mode, an additional Selec-Terrain setting that optimizes off-road performance and adds a 20:1 crawl ratio.
Limited
At the top of the lineup is the Jeep Compass Limited. It’s the most luxurious option and includes many of the Latitude’s optional features. There are also two available special edition packages, the High Altitude and the Red Edition.
