1. Rausch Creek Off-Road Park

Well known as one of the best off-roading destinations in PA, the 3,000-acre Rausch Creek Off-Road Park offers about 80 miles of trails and forest roads. Each trail is ranked as easy, intermediate, or difficult, so you’ll always know what you’re getting into.
Here you’ll find plenty of hills, bowls, and rocks, as well as club-friendly trails and primitive camping. If you want to practice and sharpen your skills, you can also check out the rock crawling course.
This park is open all year long and has a two-vehicle minimum. If you don’t already have a group of off-roading buddies, don’t worry. You can join the Rausch Creek Connection Facebook group, where you can find other enthusiasts to wheel with.

2. Darkwater OHV Trail

Pottersville, PA

Darkwater OHV Trail is another fun place to play in the mud and test out your Jeep’s off-roading abilities. This 31.9-mile trail is moderately challenging and offers some beautiful scenic lakeside driving. The trails here are not always well-marked, but there are plenty of options for you to explore.

3. Rock Run Recreation Area

1228 Saint Lawrence Road Patton, PA 16668

Considered one of the top Jeep off-road trails in the Pittsburgh, PA area, Rock Run Recreation Area features 140 miles of trails and will give you spectacular views of the Allegheny Mountains. The park is well-maintained and offers affordable pricing and an excellent community atmosphere, making it a great place to spend a few days.
The trails are open from April to October and the park offers camping on-site. There are also plenty of meet-ups and events held here, giving you opportunities to make friends with other Jeep off-roaders. 4. Nemacolin Woodlands Offroad Course

If you’re just getting into Jeep off-roading and you want a guided experience, you can’t go wrong with Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Here, you’ll find 20 miles of rugged trails and a rock garden.
Book an Instructional Jeep Off-Roading experience, where an instructor will guide you through the course and help you get familiar with your vehicle, or if you’re really new to the game, you can even book a Ride-Along, where you can experience the thrills of off-roading alongside an experienced driver, without having to bring your own Jeep.
While you’re at the resort, you can also enjoy a wide range of other adventures, ranging from shooting instruction to wine tasting, cosmic bowling, or even a sloth encounter!

5. Ben Franklin Range

1130 Ridge Rd. Templeton, PA 16259

Ben Franklin Range, formerly known as Scrubgrass OHV Park, offers off-roading adventures for everyone – Jeeps, side-by-sides, ATVs, and even dirt bikes. It’s one of the most popular options for trail riding in Western PA, offering over 65 miles of beautiful and challenging trails.
There are about 15 miles of trails that are open to drivers of all skill levels, and another 18 miles that are reserved for more experienced drivers. There’s plenty to love about these trails, including steep hill climbs, a four-mile natural terrain grass track, and rock gardens.
The park has over 1,200 acres of land and also offers camping, so it’s perfect for an overnight adventure. Since trail riding is only allowed on select weekends, you’ll want to check out their website for a list of Open Ride Dates before you head out.
